Join me for this conversation, where I'll be a "Beyond Healthcare" panelist.
A recent study published in Mayo Clinic Proceedings reported that less than 3 percent of Americans meet the basic qualifications for a “healthy lifestyle.” Compared to their global peers, Americans are falling behind in quality of life and age expectancy, while their stress levels are rising. Is the issue systemic or situational? How can the trends be reversed and where does this strategy begin? Can design help? A panel of national leaders in community health explore how we can develop better strategies for improving the state of America’s health.
Prior to the panel, we are honored to have US Congressman Tim Ryan, Representative of Ohio’s 13th District, speak to our audience about mindfulness. Author of A Mindful Nation: How a Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance, and Recapture the American Spirit and The Real Food Revolution: Healthy Eating, Green Groceries, and the Return of the American Family Farm, Congressman Ryan will share about his own personal experience with mindfulness practice and his commitment to seeing the mindfulness and compassion at the center of our work for a better future.
